Shakshuka


 

Shakshuka


A traditional dish from middle east simple making with great taste can have in breakfast ,lunch or dinner with crusty bread or pita bread or you can have without bread like side salad for light meal.

Ingredients

 1 serving
  1. 2 tbsp olive oil
  2. 1 medium or small size chopped onion
  3. 1 garlic clove
  4. 1/2 cup red bell pepper chopped
  5. 2 cups chopped tomatoes
  6. 1 tomato paste /puree
  7. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  8. 1 tsp cumin
  9. 1 tsp tomato sauce
  10. 1 tsp salt adjust as per taste
  11. 1 egg
  12. 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  13. For garnishing chopped parsley

Steps

  1. Firstly use pan as per no of persons you want to make I am making only for 2 person using only one egg you can use eggs more than one and pan big for keeping gap between eggs. Next add olive oil and add chopped onion let onion gets soft then add chopped garlic and saute for a minute and next add chopped bell pepper I am using red bell pepper can be used any colour pepper and saute till pepper gets soft.

  2. Next add chopped tomatoes and tomato paste many of them use sugar but I am using tomato ketchup to bring little sweetness. Next add all the spice and give a good mix for a minute and next add chopped parsley and make little space in between to put egg.

  3. Cover the pan with lid and keep till egg gets cooked and serve delicious shakshuka in breakfast,lunch or dinner with crusty bread or pita bread.
